Since I’m too busy (and probably lazy…) right now to write a full blog entry, I will have the privilege of welcoming my dearest friend, http://www.biblegateway.com to the stage. This entry will be comprised of bible verses. After all, they are from the best piece of writing in history. Without further ado…
Daniel 9:8-10: “To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you. To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.”
Romans 3:23-24: “For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” BUT that’s not all. Verse 24: “and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.”
This is such a glorious hope and truth; that we should be called children of God!!! That God should love us! 1 John 3:1-2: “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are…Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.”
Ephesians 2:1-7: “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work inthe sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” We were dead. There was no hope. But then in the passage comes this little tiny word: but. Verse 4-7: “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him andseated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” We have such a glorious and amazing hope! We are children of God. He has bought us with his blood. We are the slaves of righteousness! No longer are we fumbling around in the dark, following our passions and desires. No! We are living in the light of Christ!
2 Corinthians 4:5-6: “For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
This amazing hope is what we live for, day by day. This hope is who we are. It is ingrained in our souls. It is inscribed on our foreheads. (Revelation 7). If we are in Christ, if we are Christians, we have such a glorious hope of eternity.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18:”So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, oh my soul. Worship His holy name. Sing like never before, oh my soul. Worship His holy name.
